Are You Stuck In A Ditch At Your Job?

When you try to figure out if your job is a stuck in the ditch job , you will have to do a little test on yourself, and ask a few questions. Have you ever been offered a promotion or some type of transfer to another location? If not, this is a strong indication of stuck in a ditch job . This means, the management is taking advantage of you, or they are not equipped enough financially to give you a great future for yourself. If you have just received a promotion or some type of chance to cross-train, your job may appear as a stuck in a ditch job . If you feel trapped, in your current position in your job, you should make an attempt, and explore all angles, and chances of a raise, promotion, or some type of transfer before assuming it is as a stuck in a ditch job.

Have you reached the highest pay that you will make for your current position? A lot of jobs make a cap on how much money you can make. These jobs  do not have much chance to advance. My mom has worked for a lot of these type jobs when I was younger. I have always told her she is at a stuck in the ditch job. Not to discourage her, but to tell, and possibly help her in the long run. If your yearly income has remained the same after multiple attempts to evaluate it, or if you’ve received very, very small raises, you may be in a stuck in the ditch job. Your employers may appear to be very happy with your work, but that may be giving you false hope for a raise. If you’re still getting regular raises in salary, and very good reviews, then there’s still a strong possibility you could be promoted, or have a bright future for making more money at your job.

Another sign of a stuck in the ditch job is if you do not have many responsibilities. I personally like to call these low man on totem pole jobs. Some positions will never change or give you any other tasks to perform. The same old job responsibilities year after year. For example… If you get hired to cook in the back of a coney island at 18 years old, you may be still cooking when you are 25. There is nothing wrong with that, but my point is that you can only have so much responsibilities at the job. Look, I am not trying to discourage you in any way from any job that you currently have. I am just pointing out some things that may pertain to you, and you may not be aware of. Trust me, I have seen it all. A lot of companies try to take advantage of many of there staff they have hired in, and they see how far they can milk their employees. Just make sure you at least know how far you can move up, or how much money the maximum is at your job. Then you will know if it is a stuck in the ditch job.

There’s no doubt the same work needs to be performed every day, but most workers will get burnt out when they do the same old thing day after day, and year after year, and they do not ever climb their way up the ladder, or see some type of light that there is more money, or more responsibilities to come.

I hope I have helped you get a better understanding of how to determine what a stuck in the ditch job is, and avoid getting taken advantage of later in life financially. If you are in one of these jobs, I am NOT telling you to quit, I am only giving you a perspective on a few things to look for.

Making Friends And Building Relationships

These points are key, in building relationships. I was a talker while growing up.  Shy did not even exist with my personality. What I did find out though, is to listen more when you are communicating with friends, leads, family, and whoever else you are building relationships with. If we are willing and able to listen to others, we will find it much appreciated by whoever we may be talking with. Some people are not aware of how much they are controlling the conversation. I think if you want to always talk about yourself, you can go to a psychologist and buy a few sessions with them.

Try to avoid that high school gossip too. Obviously this does not always pertain when talking to leads from your business, but any of your friends or family members, my opinion, do not want to always hear you talking bad about others or running others into the ground. The people you are talking to will start picturing you differently. Look…. I’m not telling you how to communicate with people, but what I am doing is giving you tips on things that I have learned along the way.

Another tip is if you think a friend has a bad idea or something you do not think will work, don’t always argue with them about it. just keep silent and let them work things out for themselves. Another reason not to do this is because you could feel responsible for their actions. You can offer support to friends, but you can’t create the rest of their lives for them. Your opinion is okay to give, but I would try to avoid a lot of conflict in any topic that comes up. Arguing is one thing, but trying to knock down someones idea or dream, could change the whole way that person thinks, and lives. People are looking for answers, and you might give them the feedback the needed to give up on their journey.

Don’t take yourself so serious.  Laugh more at yourself and be self-deprecating. This does not mean we have to embarrass ourselves, it just means we can get rid of our ego for a little while and open up more, smile and laugh. Humor is often the best ingredient for relieving stress or any type of uncomfortable, awkward, or stressful situation. Don’t you find when you are having fun and laughing, that everything is okay?  I know I do, and you will find me smiling and laughing a lot as I go through my life, because that is something I love to have as a part of my personality. I’m not saying I cannot be serious, but I know having fun is a part of being successful.

Learn how to forgive people. This is a big one in my eyes. I do not mean forgive every little thing people do wrong, because that will make them think they can get away with anything. I mean, sincerely think about if you are going to forgive them, and try to do it quicker than usual. If you are going to do it anyways, why make them suffer for a long time? it’s a powerful and important factor in maintaining healthy relationships. However, real forgiveness also means that we are willing to forget the experience. If we forgive one day, but then a few weeks later bring up that thing they did wrong, because this means you did not really forgive them. When we make mistakes, just consider how much we would appreciate others to forgive and completely forget after they forgive. That is important.. the forgetting.

Don’t Let Negative People Bring You Down

Hello again!!  I want to apologize for my lack of blogging. My partners and I are on the next venture, and we are short on time.  I did have a very valuable tip for everyone today.  You know, I have learned over the years not to listen to anyone that is negative minded.  This means more then you think it does. For example, when you wake up and you are in a good mood, when you leave your house,  odds are you will be in contact with many people that day.  Whether it be the phone,  gas stations, family, friends,  and so on.  It is okay to talk to people that are negative while you are going on with your day, but it is very IMPORTANT that you do not let there negativity influence your mindset, or you actions.  Maybe they are having a bad day,  maybe they lost there job,  maybe they are just that annoying person that is never happy.  I’m just saying,  some people have good reasons to be in a bad mood,  and that’s okay.  I just mean keep your good attitude,  and move on after you have talked to them or brushed past them.  Stay in your good feeling mood.  That is sometimes what life is all about.  Feeling good.

Another reason you should avoid negativity is if you have a goal or a dream that you want to pursue,  and you are surrounded by negative people,  what do you think that will do for your confidence level.  I can’t even remember how many times I have heard,” Oh that’s a stupid idea”, ” Oh that will never work.”  Along with some others I would rather not post on my blog.  :-)     You get the idea though.  You will find if you do not tune these negative remarks out, then you might start believing them..  When that happens, you will lose self confidence.  When you lose that, it might cost you your dream!!  Just try to be in a good mood as much as you can,  and think happy, positive thoughts in your day.  You can do whatever you put your mind to,  and nobody can tell you otherwise.  Happy to be with you on my blog,  and feel free to post more comments anytime.

Get To Know Your Leads

I would suggest getting to know your leads instead of just sending your auto-responder messages to them.  Nobody does business with people they don’t know.  You know,  This is a people business,  and that means no matter what your latest and greatest product is,  you still have to talk on the phone.

It is great when you finally get your first 10 leads online.  I remember when I got my first 10 leads.  I was so happy.  I logged into my back office and hit my first goal.  10 leads!!  Now, of course I had getresponse (auto-follow up), and I was getting great results with my marketing strategy.  Only, there was one thing missing.  I haven’t talked to any of them.  I knew that if I did not start calling them, then more leads would be there the following week now that I had a successful marketing technique.  I suggest that if you do not have the knowledge to talk to leads or if you are nervous,  then you will never make it in this industry.  That is just my opinion.  There are only a select few individuals that I know in the field that can get away with succeeding in  Network Marketing without talking to their leads, and that is still with lots and lots of advanced marketing and videos.  So I had to get to know each and everyone of my leads.  I wanted to know them.  Believe it or not,  you will be amazed at what you can acomplish with good, solid networking and phone conversations.

Look… I’m just saying,  Network Marketing is the best industry I have ever seen.  Anyone can make it if they put in what it takes to succeed.  First, as I said, get tons of knowledge before you start getting leads.  Leads are filling out there information because they are looking for your help,  a leader,  to guide them in the right direction to the top!  They are not looking for a bunch of capture pages with someone on the other end that is a fake.

This is not a get rich quick, or some ferry Godmother to magically give you a massive downline.  I will say it again, this is a people business.  People join people…. Not companies.  Your leads have to trust you as a leader, and you have to trust your leads.  That is the way that will help you succeed so much more.  It all starts with you picking up the phone and providing value for your leads, and your team.

I hope I helped you today,  and stay tuned on Network Pro Coach for some more great training and tips!!

Failing Can Be Good

You know,  our mind is tricky.  I have been through a roller coaster of  a journey to this point.  I’m sure you have too.  Everybody’s  Journey is different, but you can make the best out of all the times you fail.  I want to ask you a question.  How do you feel when you fail?  Stop reading, and really think about that for a second….. Not a good thought huh?  Well, there is good news about failing.  I have learned to turn my failing along my journey,  into good,  and positive moments in life.  You see,  when you fail,  You really learn what NOT to do.  If  you  try something,  and it doesn’t work,  odds are that you will not do the same thing the same way.  This will help you in later stages of your mission.  You will always look back on those moments,  and will be very careful on how you do things the next time.  I have failed in many different ways along the way,  and put all of them together and have created momentum and great success with all of them put together.  You see,  most people when they fail,  they give up.  That’s why in the Network Marketing industry the percentages of really making a full time living are very tough.  I think deep down,  a lot of people have  a Network Marketing dream.  It’s just many can’t handle failure,  or the emotional roller coaster that comes with this industry.  So first instinct is to give up, and go back to the comfortable life that is more secure, and makes more sense.  I can promise you one thing.  Every leader in the Network Marketing industry has Failed Many Many times before getting it right.  The key is to turn every failure into a positive and uplifting moment in your journey to success.

Just remember… NEVER give up on your dream,  and NEVER let failing get you down,  or discourage you to give up.  This is why so many fail in the field.  If  you can’t figure out a way to make it work,  then get more information.  If there are others that make it,  then there is not any reason that you can’t.  Also,  surround yourself with positive people and positive things in your life.  This will help motivate you and keep you thinking the right mindset to succeed in whatever you may be setting a goal for.

I am excited for everyone to succeed in what they are after in life, and you CAN do it.

Until next time, this is your Network Pro Coach, and To Your MASSIVE Success

You Need To Start Believing In Yourself

There is nothing better to invest in than believing in yourself.  If you don’t really believe that you will succeed, then who will?  You need to train your mind to really believe your success WILL happen.  I always like to say, ” It’s not IF, It’s WHEN. ”

You can start by reading empowering books to motivate you and get your mind thinking positive.  Read these books for about 10 to 20 minutes per day, every day.  If you are not financially doing well right now, don’t let that get you down.  Believe in your goals and your plan to success.  Get inspired to take new and different actions to get better results in whatever you may be looking for.  Invest in yourself.  Even if you have a very low budget, you can find many things online.  Seek out search engines like Google or Bing, connect with industry leaders and download training CD’s from other leaders in what ever industry you are seeking to succeed in.  You can buy cheap audios to listen to while driving in your car.

Personally, I believe you should surround yourself  with positive people and positive things in life.  Don’t always get home from work and turn on the news and listen to all the bad things that are happening in life.  That is okay sometimes, but you do not want to get in a habit of  looking and listening to negatives in life, inevitably, you will spiral down to the bottom quickly.  Natural fragility will bring you down, discourage you,  and distract you from your path to success.  If you are in Network  Marketing, and your upline is not helping you build your confidence and beliefs, then maybe they are not as serious as you are to build a business together.

Think positive,  find something you love to do,  and a company that will be there for you when you need them.  You will know when you find it.  Remember,  you MUST believe in yourself, and what you are doing to succeed.

I hope this helped,  and until next time…

An introduction to Social Media – Social Networking

social-media

Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, Bebo, Tagged, XING, Friendster, Mixi… Sounds like a bad day over at Websters Dictionary right? These are Social Networking sites. Social Networking’s definition lays within the very roots of the words that make it up. They are social communities of people who share interests and/or activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others.

Social networks aren’t the only fish in the sea when it comes to social media. You have social bookmarks, social network aggregators, blogs, micro-blogs, wiki’s, social news (which can also be considered social bookmarking), social opinion sites, photo sharing, video sharing, live-casting,  audio and music sharing, product reviews, Q&A or frequently asked questions, product reviews, virtual worlds and game sharing. Some would even contend that MMO’s (massively multiplayer online games) are of the largest social networks.

Sounds like a lot huh? It is, and if you aren’t utilizing at least 80% of them, you are not even in the game. Hell, you haven’t even left the bench yet.

In my future blogs you will see me refer to SMM or SMO, this simply refers to the marketing or optimization of social media. First I’m going to cover the most popular sites in each section that I described above, then, over the nest few weeks, I will be covering how to utilize each of them to the fullest extent in your primary business.

Social Networking – The three major players

FaceBookI’ll be honest, when I first tried facebook, I HATED it. I was a myspace junkie, so the constricting layout and the million and a half applications in facebook were too much. I have since, come around. Facebook is a social networking website that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Incorporated. Users can add friends and send messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. Additionally, users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region. The website’s name stems from the colloquial name of a book given to incoming students at Zuckerberg’s high school alma mater, Phillips Exeter Academy. The book shows the faces and names of the school’s students and faculty.

Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook with fellow computer science major students and his roommates Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes while he was a student at Harvard University. Website membership was initially limited to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It later expanded further to include any university student, then high school students, and, finally, to anyone aged 13 and over. The website currently has more than 250 million active users worldwide.

A January 2009 Compete.com study has ranked Facebook as the most used social network by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace.

Myspace.com – MySpace is a social networking website. Its headquarters are in Beverly Hills, California, USA, where it shares an office building with its immediate owner, Fox Interactive Media, which is owned by News Corporation. MySpace became the most popular social networking site in the United States in June 2006. According to comScore, MySpace was overtaken internationally by main competitor Facebook in April 2008, based on monthly unique visitors. MySpace employs 1,000 employees, after laying off 30% of its workforce in June 2009; the company does not disclose revenues or profits separately from News Corporation. The 100 millionth account was created on August 9, 2006, in the Netherlands.

LinkedInPersonally, I do not have a linked in account. I should, I was even invited, but at the time I was heavily into MySpace so I didn’t feel another social network was needed. I was wrong, too much of a good thing in this case, is never enough. LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site founded in December 2002 and launched in May 2003 mainly used for professional networking. As of July 2009[update], it had more than 43 million registered users, spanning 170 industries. For serious minded business people, you can immediately see the benefit of being a member. The purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. The people in the list are called Connections. Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not) to become a connection.

This list of connections can then be used in a number of ways:

  • A contact network is built up consisting of their direct connections, the connections of each of their connections (termed second-degree connections) and also the connections of second-degree connections (termed third-degree connections). This can be used to gain an introduction to someone you wish to know through a mutual, trusted contact.
  • It can then be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one’s contact network.
  • Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates.
  • Job seekers can review the profile of hiring managers and discover which of their existing contacts can introduce them.

The “gated-access approach” (where contact with any professional requires either a preexisting relationship, or the intervention of a contact of theirs) is intended to build trust among the service’s users. LinkedIn participates in EU’s International Safe Harbor Privacy Principles.

In my next Blog, I will cover Social Bookmarking and why it’s so important.
